Turning
If you are sensing there is something more to life, and you are dissatisfied with the struggles you have here that don’t seem to end, I invite you to read the following poem. May God set you free and draw you close as you turn in faith and trust to Jesus Christ…He is all you need.
All isn’t right.
There’s no peace for my heart.
My faith isn’t sight.
I’m not sure where to start.
Fretful and worried
for things beyond my control.
Stressful and hurried
in my body and soul.
A cycle of sadness,
disappointments, regret.
Frustration and madness
at dreams dreamed and unmet.
Striving unceasing
for all the things I can’t see.
Living for pleasing,
at any cost, only me.
Is there more to consider?
More than this time?
More than being embittered
with what I thought was all mine?
Is there more to know
than what’s under these stars?
Is letting it all go
key to rest for my heart?
To think of One greater,
who stands outside time.
One gracious and loving,
forgiving and kind.
To think of One bigger
than all earthly concern,
with power to trigger
the hardest heart to turn.
Nothing impossible,
No anxious thoughts.
Trust unexplainable,
Rest from wars fought.
All suffering seems small
when there’s hope for tomorrow.
Jesus gives strength to stand tall,
the Spirit cures sorrow.
Set free from sin’s stronghold,
There’s no need to fear.
In weakness, be bold,
for God draws you near.
